54 foot Concrete Service Pit, HO scale, standard gauge.

$15.00

This kit is a 54 foot standard gauge concrete service pit as used in machine shops and engine houses by a wide variety of railroads. It's based on the pit built, circa 1923, by the Sugar Pine Lumber Company in Central Camp, California. The casting is made from urethane plastic and is sized to fit in a 1/2-inch thick recess in the subroadbed such as a layer of Homasote. The model is based on prototype photos from that era. The instructions include complete details about adding wood stringers to support the rails as well as adding the adjacent wood decking.

The color is the partial-coverage primer paint used as a mold-release agent during the manufacturing process and is not intended to be the final in-use color. This is made from my own pattern and is not a ripoff of another person's work.

I'm always happy to combine shipping on multiple purchases and refund significant shipping overages. I don't make money on shipping.
