Steam Donkey 298 Airlift

This is the short story of how a dedicated crew of volunteers located, recovered and reassembled Steam Donkey 928 for display at the Tillamook Forest Center. Ironically, the donkey was stranded and saved from scrapping by one or more of the Tillamook Burn fires, and sat waiting for many years to be rediscovered and placed in a position of historic honor.
